A Victoria Falls man died after his girlfriend's boyfriend allegedly struck him on the head with a brick in a fight.
Matabeleland North police spokesperson confirmed the death of Levison Shoko.
"We received a report about a 24-year-old man who died after being struck with a brick by one Kingston Ndlovu," said acting police spokesperson for Matabeleland North Assistant Inspector Eglon Nkala.
Shoko died in the early hours of Sunday.
He died on admission at Victoria Falls Hospital in Zimabbwe as a result of the injuries sustained from the attack.
It is said that Shoko (24) was caught in a love triangle with his assailant, Kingston Ndlovu (22) and Erita Zulu (33).
Ndlovu and Zulu have since been arrested.
The two allegedly connived to keep Shoko at Zulu's house until his condition deteriorated.
Shoko had reportedly gone to drink beer at Chinotimba Sports Bar when he saw his girlfriend Zulu drinking beer with Ndlovu.
The bar is said to have closed at about 3am on Sunday and Shoko saw Zulu leaving the bar with Ndlovu.
He decided to follow behind the two and caught up with them at a bus stop where an argument ensured resulting in Zulu tearing Shoko's shirt.
Shoko who was in the company of a friend only identified as Richard Mpofu got another shirt from his friend before following the pair again.
Shoko and Zulu are said to have exchanged harsh words inside the house but Mpofu intervened and calmed them.
While Mpofu was restraining them, Ndlovu who was outside came in armed with a brick and struck Mr Shoko once on the head.
"He fell unconscious and his condition deteriorated in the afternoon as he was still in the house, upon which Zulu rushed him to hospital where he later died. Ndlovu and Zulu are assisting police with investigations," said the police spokesperson.
Shoko's body was taken to United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) for postmortem.
