A MIDLANDS State University (MSU) student was hurled before the courts for selling daga, which he claimed was meant to raise his school fees.
Bruce Jeremiah of Kilwinning Road in Hatfield, Harare, pleaded guilty to unlawful possession or use of dangerous drugs when he appeared before Magistrate Tavengwa Chibanda.
The magistrate fined him $100 or 90 days imprisonment.
The dagga weighing 0.099kg was forfeited to the State for burning. In passing sentence, Mr Chibanda said the accused is a first offender who pleaded guilty thereby not wasting the State’s resources.
