Sports car careers off road and ends up embedded through window of house

A driver has been seriously injured after a red Audi TT careered off the road and ended up embedded in a house.
Emergency services were called to the address in Lowestoft, Suffolk, UK to find the car stuck inside a ground floor window.
A man believed to be in his 20s was removed from the vehicle and taken to James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth with serious head injuries. He has since been transferred to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge.
Three people were in the house in Long Meadow Walk at the time of the crash but none of them were injured.
Keith Shales, 66, who lives in nearby Cotmer Road, said: ‘When I got there and saw the car through the hole in the hedge I thought, that looks serious.
‘I’ve seen photos of cars going into people’s houses before, but the bushes and cars behind it must have been like a launch pad for him to get that high.
‘I reckon he must be about four feet off the ground. I’ve never seen anything like it.’
Structural engineers are on site to inspect the property and police said the occupants had left the house while safety inspections continued.
Sgt Bob Patterson, of Suffolk police, said: ‘Collision investigators will be at the scene today as we try to ascertain exactly what has occurred.
‘At this early stage we could not speculate as to what has caused the crash.’
