Pastor Mboro of the Incredible Happenings Church has been dragged into a paternity feud and Betty Shabbert (39) is very angry with him. f
Betty, from Kliptown in Soweto, told Daily Sun she received an SMS from her boyfriend on Sunday saying that Mboro had told him that the boy he thought was his son, was somebody else's.
"I was insulted by what Mboro told the father of my son," she said.
She said when she replied to the SMS, the son's father called her names. "I don't understand how my son's paternity came into question when he was talking with Mboro.
"My son is the spitting image of his father and for him to question him now does not make any sense."
When Daily Sun spoke to Victor Ramagoshi, Betty's lover, he immediately confessed that he had used Mboro's name to protect Betty's sister.
"I heard rumours around the kasi that the child was not mine and I wanted to find out the truth," he said. "Betty's sister told me that the child was not mine. I used Mboro's name to protect her sister."
Angry pastor Mboro said: "I am a prophet, I don't divide families and I don't do DNA tests. They must just leave my church out of their fight and stop playing with my name."
The pastor said he doesn't remember talking to anyone about the paternity of a child.
