A soldier manning the ZBC Mbare Studios, Bigboy Chihambakwe (24) allegedly raped a college student in a tent at the studios along Beatrice Road before ordering her to vacate the premises.
Chihambakwe who allegedly told the girl that policemen and soldiers are immune to prosecution, appeared before Harare magistrate Esthere Chivara.
It is State's case that on 7 October last year at around 12 noon, the correspondent was on her was from college and decided to pass through ZBC Mbare Studios where her boyfriend, Chihambakwe works.
When the teenager reached the gate, she saw Chihambakwe's work mate who told her that he was in a tent.
The work mate called Chihambakwe informing him that his girlfriend had come to see him before walking her towards the tent in question.
The two met Chihambakwe along the way and when they reached the tent, he allegedly dragged her inside and raped her.
State counsel Sarah Bosha alleged that the teenager screamed for help but no one came to her rescue.
After the allegedly incident, Chihambakwe reportedly ordered her to leave the place before his superiors noticed anything.
The teenager did not report the matter to police since Chihambakwe had told her that policemen and soldiers were immune to prosecution. Hmetro
