A newly born baby was dumped in a forest to be eaten by animals by its mother soon after birth.
Sibonokuhle Ntini allegedly dumped the baby at Chamabondo forest in Victoria Falls which is home to lions, leopards and snakes on Wednesday last week.
Ntini was arrested a day later after police launched a manhunt following a report by David Sibanda of Mkhosana suburb, who rescued the baby.
Ntini is still yet to appear in court as prosecutors yesterday referred the docket back to the police station for further investigations.
Ntini has two minor children from her marriage to Lazarus Ndlovu who died in January last year.
