A Bulawayo woman has dragged her father to the maintenance court demanding $250 for her maintenance.
Twenty-five year old Rebecca Masuku approached the courts seeking financial support from her father, Thubelihle Masuku after being dumped by her lover.
She told magistrate Batanai Tuwe that her father had the capacity and means to maintain her.
"My father has a farm in Esigodini and houses in Burnside and Paddonhurst suburbs that he is renting out. He has to give me money because I've failed to find a job and I want to go back to school," she said.
The court heard from Rebecca that her father refused to pay university fees for her hence she approached the maintenance court.
She pleaded with the magistrate to grant her claim saying she had tried to talk to her father but was adamant he was not going to give her money.
Masuku told the court that he could only pay fees for his daughter when she provides proof that she got a university place and also returns home. Magistrate Tuwe postponed the matter to February 5.
