A man claims his own daughter poured boiling water over him.
"My daughter wants to see me dead. I regret the day she was brought into the world," he said.
The victim (57) of Block W in Soshanguve, north of Tshwane, is nursing his burn wounds.
His daughter allegedly emptied a kettle of boiling water on his face after their talk went wrong.
He said the 22-year-old woman would disappear from home without letting anybody know where she was going.
And when he tried to put his foot down, he ended up with a seriously burned face.
"This girl does not want to be guided.
"She was away for three weeks and when I questioned her, she insulted me.
"Then she poured hot water on my face."
He said his daughter began her uncontrollable behaviour after the death of his wife in June.
He said he got relatives and even pastors to try and talk to her without success.
"After I had spoken to her regarding her disappearing acts, I was watching TV and she was boiling water in the kitchen.
"I never suspected a thing until the moment she came out of the kitchen with the kettle," he said.
A case of assault has been opened at Rietgat Police Station.
Officer Lolo Mangena said a woman has been arrested and will appear in court soon.
