A Bulawayo woman is battling for life at a local hospital after her entire right side was paralysed following an assault by her husband.
Bekezela Ncube's husband John Shava has since been arrested.
The alleged incident occurred on 18 September at the couple's home in Lobengula West.
Ncube's crime was for reprimanding her husband's brother for bringing girlfriends to their home.
It is said that on the day under investigation, Ncube told Shava to rein in her brother Michael for bringing his different lovers to their home.
The couple has reportedly been having a long standing dispute over Michael's behaviour.
The woman is said to have told Shava that his brother was in the habit of taking advantage of her absence and bring in girlfriends.
Shava did not take kindly to this and told her that he was not going to allow anyone speak ill of his brother.
An argument ensued between the two resulting in the trading of harsh word and the man decided to punch his wife.
He allegedly punched her all over the body but the severest of the blows landed on the face.
Ncube fell unconscious as a result and was taken to hospital where it was diagnosed that her right side had been paralysed.
She is still admitted at the hospital. Shava appeared before Western Commonage magistrate, Mrs Tancy Dube on a charge of physical abuse and was remanded to 2 October.
