A Brazilian madam and at least four of her prostitutes were arrested in a Midtown East undercover sting — allegedly trying to sell trysts for $140 to $280 a time, authorities said.
Hilda Maria Mallo, 62, was charged with felony promoting prostitution and was awaiting arraignment in Manhattan Criminal Court Wednesday night.
Also busted was accused call girl Wanda Nemes, 37, who was lying with no clothes on on the bed at 299 E. 52nd St. when an undercover cop posing as a customer arrived around 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
Gloria Verela, 47, Andy Mejia, 36, and Rafaelina Acosta, 42, were also charged as alleged sex workers.
A source told the Daily News that Mallo, whose husband Eric LaRuffa is a labor attorney in Westchester County, has been known to be working the neighborhood for years.
She was expected to be released on bail posted by celebrity bondsman Ira Judelson, who has orchestrated the release of high profile defendants as rappers Lil Wayne, Ja Rule, and ex-Giant Lawrence Taylor.
