A court case against a man accused of infecting two women he met in Basingstoke with the HIV virus has been suspended due to his ill health.
Henry Assumang, 35, had denied two counts of inflicting grievous bodily harm on the women, who cannot be named.
The Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has applied for proceedings to be suspended following "new medical evidence" concerning his health.
Judge Jane Miller QC approved the application at Winchester Crown Court.
A CPS spokesman said the medical evidence "clearly shows that Mr Assumang is unable to enter a plea or stand trial at this time".
However, the CPS said it could apply to the court to resume the prosecution if his health improves sufficiently.
Mr Assumang, of Coppice Pale, Chineham, Basingstoke, is accused of having sexual relationships with the two women between 2007 and 2010 after meeting them in the town.
He pleaded not guilty to the two charges in January 2012.
The case was originally listed for trial in June last year until concerns about his health were raised before the court.
