Jilted Cheryl Lee Nelson, 52, faces criminal charges after police say she admitted to creating false Facebook accounts with her ex-boyfriend Kevin Haarsma's personal information to make it appear that his new girlfriend was threatening her.
In August 2012, Nelson reported the "harassment" to police, claiming she had been threatened.
She also said Haarsma and his new girlfriend had taped offensive letters to the front of her home.
But investigators searched Nelson's computer and discovered the fake profile.
Nelson, from Grand Rapids, Mich., was charged with falsely reporting a felony and unlawful posting of a message, reports MLive.com.
Detective Jason Russo said Nelson just "couldn't let go" of the relationship.
In a probable cause affidavit, he wrote: "Nelson made (an) admission she had been falsely reporting crimes because she was not able to let go of her relationship with Kevin."
Russo added that evidence showed Nelson set up false Facebook accounts.
Nelson will be tried in Kent County Circuit Court later this month.
