The future of two Muvhango soap stars apparently hangs in the balance Sunday Sun reported.
Chief Azwindini, played by Gabriel Temudzani and fashionista KK, played by McDonald Ndou, are said to be on a "precautionary break" on Muvhango.
Insiders at Henley Studios claim that these two actors have become big-headed, and come to work unprepared.
An insider in the wardrobe department said, "They are causing a storm on the set. They don't rehearse their storylines.
"They come to work without getting to understand their characters. They think they know too much. And their (mis)behaviour had angered producers and some fellow actors."
Another source revealed that the duo called the "terrible twins" only read their scripts in their cars on the way to work.
Said the source: "Producers are spitting fire because the two are annoying the rest of the crew.
"They used to be hard workers, but now they have changed completely. They think they are bigger than the brand, but they forget that it was Muvhango that made them into household names."
Sunday Sun has also learned that Gabriel's arrogance might cost him his job – because scriptwriters are working around the clock to turn the storyline around.
An insider revealed: "Gabriel will soon find himself on the streets, if script authors find a way to write him off the soapie."
It is understood that producers are busy working on how to bring Sydney Ramakuwela, who plays Mulalo, to take over the Thathe chieftaincy.
A contact in the script department told the Sunday sun that there's a storyline wherein Mulalo plans to fight for his chieftancy, and looks set to win it.
"Last week they held auditions to get him a second wife, as he is going to be the chief.
"It seems Gabriel will get the boot," said the script source.
KK's character was killed last year, but was later brought back to life after his fans protested.
When contacted, KK said: "They haven't said anything to me. But I haven't been going to work lately because we're on a break."
Gabriel got angry and said: "I have nothing to say (to you). Talk to the production team."
The soap's publicist Eugene Mametse told the SunTeam: "We continue shooting with the said cast members. We are not firing any of these cast members."
