Many were left disappointed by Sniper's no show at award-winning South African house group, Big Nuz show at the the Kebab Centre on Saturday.
In a post which Sniper shared on ZimboJam Facebook page, the 'Love yeMusoja' dancehall musician apologised to all his disappointed fans for not being able to perform.
"I was supposed to perform at the Big Nuz Show at the Kebab Centre in Harare," posted Sniper.
"However, after struggling with the show's promoter to honour our agreement, and not receiving my agreed fee, I couldn't."
He added on that it was sadly becoming a trend in Zimbabwe that promoters were not valuing local artists, instead treating them as second-rate performers.
Sniper also referred to the incident with Mi Casa a few weeks ago when the group failed to come to Zimbabwe due to a mismanagement issue with May 7, the promoter of the cancelled Harare show.
"Some artists are living like destitutes," added Sniper. "It costs us a lot of money to produce these albums, rehearse our sets, pay our support teams, the list is long. It is not cheap to be The General, or any other of the Zimbabwean local artists."
He encouraged fellow artists, the National Arts Council and the ministries that Zimbabwean arts fall under to ensure that local artists are not undervalued.
