Black Eyed Peas' Will.I.am is being sued by N-DUBZ singer and UK X-Factor judge Tulisa.
Tulisa has started legal proceedings against Will in a bid to claim publishing money for the track Scream & Shout.
Tulisa was orginally meant to release the single after working on it with Jean Baptiste but Will.i.am ended up recording a version which became a worldwide hit with Britney Spears.
However, Tulisa claims she wrote some of the lyrics on the track and if she can prove it she could get a huge pay-out.
One of the lyrics Tulisa claims belongs to her is: “When you hear this in the club, you’d better turn this s*** up.”
The total amount will depend on what percentage of the song she wrote.
If Tulisa’s publisher Sony ATV are successful against Will’s publishers BMG, the X Factor host will also have to be listed as a co-writer on the song.
Although the cash will come in handy Tulisa will always wonder what the song would have done for her career.
The track, which was originally called I Don’t Give A F***, was due to feature on her debut album The Female Boss, which peaked at No35 last year.
She’s back in the studio now working on new material and hopes to release a single in May — when she’ll be supporting NE-YO on his UK tour.
