... HE WAS A SOCCER AGE CHEAT!
The shocking truth came out after Senzo's father, Sam Meyiwa, allegedly removed the tombstone from the grave of the famous goalie's twin brother Siya, who died in 1993.
He did so because the tombstone had his twin sons' date of birth engraved on it: 24 January 1984.
This was proof that Senzo was older than 30 years of age when he died. But he gave his age as 27!
Soccer cheats take unfair advantage of younger players on the soccer field.
Senzo easily beat opponents who were at least three years younger.
On Friday, the scandal was revealed by Senzo's teachers at Cwebezela Senior Primary School in Umlazi, where he completed Grades 5 to 7.
They asked to remain anonymous, and were shocked after Senzo's death to learn that he was supposed to be 27 years old.
Last week one of them stated: "When Senzo was admitted to Cwebezela, he was 11. He was born in 1984!"
Sunday Sun has seen the school's register, where Senzo's date of birth is recorded as 24 January 1984.
But his "soccer birthday" was 24 September 1987, which made him out to be three years and eight months younger!
The teacher said: "We'd like to set the record straight: Senzo was born in 1984. In the registration book, his father Sam is recorded as a parent, along with his address.
"We're not lying. We had to come clean. Senzo was a jewel of our school. We're proud that he went so far.
"But somebody must explain this mess – and the truth needs to be told.
"We cannot live with such a secret for the rest of our lives," said the teacher.
Sam made drama by allegedly removing Siya's headstone, on the day that Senzo was buried. An employee at Umlazi Cemetery, where Siya was buried in 1993, said: "Sam told us that he was not going to be embarrassed by Senzo's age. He took the headstone to his house."
Another employee said Sam had advised them not to talk to anyone about the matter, as it would embarrass his family and the whole soccer fraternity.
The gravedigger told the People's Paper: "He came here and told us that we shouldn't show anyone Siya's grave as that would create a lot of problems.
"I don't know how you found out about this, but this thing is going to cause serious chaos. People are going to demand answers.
