A 29-YEAR-OLD Chitungwiza man yesterday appeared before provincial magistrate Lazarus Murendo facing charges of rape.
He was remanded in custody and advised to make a bail application at the High Court.
Prosecutor Norman Koropi heard that on September 1, the accused allegedly raped one of his toddler nieces while the other stood in line for the same fate on her.
The toddlers are aged three years 10 months and three years six months respectively.
It is alleged that the uncle and the two toddlers stay together at their Chitungwiza home.
The court heard that on September 1, the minors were playing in their mother's bedroom when their uncle joined them.
It is alleged that the uncle removed the two minors' panties and his trousers before making one of the complainants lie on the bed.
The court heard that he raped the first complainant while the other one stood beside the bed watching with her panties off.
He was disturbed by his 11-year-old niece who walked in on him and he ordered her not to tell anyone, the court heard.
The 11-year-old reported the matter leading to the uncle's arrest.
He is set to appear in court on September 9.
