Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa has affirmed government's commitment to the promotion and protection of human rights and challenged individuals to report any abuses of the rights of people to relevant authorities.
Speaking at a consultative workshop on the United Nations Human Rights Universal Periodic Review in Mutare on Thursday, Mnangagwa, said government was involved in various projects aimed at improving the human rights situation in the country.
He said the government was ready to address any violations of human rights and urged members of the public to report any abuses to relevant authorities.
Mnangagwa also said government was committed to ensure the independence of the five constitutional commissions from any interference.
