Four members of the Gweru cash in transit municipal police team have been arrested on allegations of assaulting a Deputy Sheriff who wanted to attach the vehicle they were using to collect cash from the Revenue Hall at Town House.
Misheck Mutindindi, Bernard Mambo, Samson Samukute and Arthur Dovo, all of Mkoba suburb, appeared for initial remand facing two counts of assault and contravening the High Court Act.
The trio attempted to stop on March 21, the Additional Sheriff of High Court in Charge of Midlands Province, Phanuel Kufadzaruwa, who was given mandate to attach property from the Gweru Municipality offices.
Kufadzarura allegedly got punched and had his hand twisted by the municipality police.
They were remanded out of custody on $50 bail each to April 14.
