Harare City Council has changed its schedule on the shutdown of Morton Jaffray Water Treatment Plant until a later date after experiencing some challenges with valves at Lake Chivero.
Michael Chideme, the acting corporate communications manager, said that the postponement was meant to allow council time to hire sub aqua divers to attend to the valves at Chivero.
Mr Chideme said council would announce new dates for the closure once the sub aqua divers had been secured.
The failuire of the valves is attributed to the old age of the machinery.
