IMAGINE smelling good food everyday which you know that you cannot eat. Apparently, the experience might be pleasant if you have other sources, but it becomes more distasteful if you are starving.

The above words when applied to a Bulawayo man Roberto Moyo from Mpopoma does not however, poignantly illustrates the plight of food starvation but his sad tale of sex starvation following reports that his wife Leandy Moyo allegedly slapped him with a five year bedroom embargo.

Roberto pulled a shocker when he claimed that he once lost sanity and was admitted to a local psychiatric institution after his wife severely deprived him of sex for five years despite the fact they were sharing the same bed and blankets.

He added that after receiving some therapy the doctor who attended to him later advised him to do away with his wife who was allegedly putting him on the edge.

Roberto opened up his sad love story at the Bulawayo Civil Court where he was seeking a protection order against his wife claiming he was emotionally and psychologically abusing him by denying him conjugal rights.

 He said he was always stressed after his wife told him that he was allegedly "fixing" him for his past "sins".

"I am married to Leandy under Chapter 5:11 and the marriage still subsists. She is denying me my conjugal rights. She has refused to have sex with me for more than five years. She says she is sorting me out because I used to come home late. She declares that she no longer wants to have sex with me for the past five years despite the fact that we are sharing the same bed and blankets.

"I feel our relationship does no longer exist. I am stressed and now under medication. I was once taken to hospital as a mentally disturbed patient and the doctor who attended to me said I must do away with her (wife). I no longer want her to stay at my place since she is emotionally and psychologically abusing me by denying me sex," he said.

Meanwhile, Leandy who sensed the humiliation of a trial did not come to court. Roberto who was upset about his wife's  behaviour was however, in for a bigger shock when presiding magistrate Marylene Mtshina dismissed his application saying there was no evidence of abuse.
