A thief who broke into a house in Mt Darwin and stole bags of maize among other items has been taught a harsh lesson.
Takawira Tsekera (40) found himself losing his sight and when his manhood began disappearing inside his body he ran to the police to confess to his crime. He hoped the police would bail him out.
It so happened that Tsekera stole from Madzibaba Rosa Zakariya (40), who was most unhappy. He had gone for prayers when the thief pounced. He consulted a local traditional healer who told him not to worry. He was going to sort this out.
“A thief broke into my house when I was out at the beginning of November. I found the doors wide open and two 50kgs bags of maize gone, 4kgs of sugar, 2 litres of cooking, rice and flour, all gone.
“I then consulted Sekuru Bhaureni who told me to go home and not to worry about it,” he said in an interview.
That is when the drama started and the thief Tsekera had no choice but to head to the police station. Cops in Mt Darwin confirmed the story.
One said “He came here and took off his trousers to show us that his manhood had disappeared and his eyesight was now poor. He told us where he had hidden the loot. We communicated with the owner
of the goods and he brought Sekuru Bhaureni with him.”
Madzibaba chose not to press charges but to go home and solve the matter between themselves.
The thief was then agreed to pay a beast to Madzibaba and another one to Sekuru Bahaureni. The traditional healer then did his thing and the thief was back to his old self again.
Sekuru Bhaureni said the thief needed to be taught a lesson.
“The man who lost his things had come to me and I told him I will fix whoever had done that. I mixed my herbs and before long I heard that his manhood was disappearing and I knew it had worked.”
Sekuru Bhaureni comes from Mozambique but lives in Mt Darwin. He said although the thief agreed to pay for his crime he had not brought the two beasts yet. But he was not worried.
“I heard that he thinks he has gotten away with it. But he will come back, crawling.”
Sekuru Bhaureni said he had no time for thieves. He said he had fixed several thieves who were left with no choice to confess. If a thief did not confess he would die, said the n’anga.
