A baby who had been reported as kidnapped has been found... with his real mum!
Police spokeswoman Constable Sharon Mahamba said there was no robbery or kidnapping.
The baby never belonged to the person who opened the case.
Four-month old Jaden is safe with his mother in Witbank, Mpumalanga, South Africa.
"The complainant faked her pregnancy after she miscarried. She made an agreement with a pregnant Witbank woman that she would take care of the baby once it was born," Mahamba told Daily Sun.
The woman claimed that her house had been robbed and she tied herself and her daughter up and staged the robbery.
Mahamba said the woman was scared to tell her husband, Julius Lubisi, that she had miscarried.
"On 25 September she called Julius and told him she had given birth.
"On 28 September she went back home without the baby," said Mahamba.
"When the husband wanted to know where the baby was she went back to Witbank to get the baby."
Mahamba said after the woman returned to Kempton Park with baby Jaden, the real mum called and told her that she wanted her son back.
"She took him back to Witbank on Monday afternoon and made up the whole scheme."
Lubisi said he had no idea the baby was not his and was distraught when he found his wife and daughter tied up.
He told Daily Sun when he got to his house after work he found the main gate and the security door open.
"When I went into the house I found my daughter on the floor, tied up and with nappies stuffed in her mouth.
"I found my wife in the bedroom. The baby wasn't there and I thought he had been stolen."
The woman was arrested and charged with perjury.
