The four-year-old marriage of a couple in Lobengula West suburb of Bulawayo is allegedly on the rocks after the husband discovered 'love messages' sent to the wife by a 13-year-old boy from the neighbourhood.
Nathan Mlambo (27) browsed through his wife's phone and came across text messages allegedly sent by a Form One pupil at Sikhulile High School.
Apparently Mlambo always suspected that his wife was cheating on him but could not prove it.
It is said on the fateful day, the wife, only identified as MaNyoni, was in the bathroom when Mlambo seized the opportunity to browse through her phone to check on anything that could hint that she was cheating.
He found a Whatsapp conversation that revealed his wife's secret relationship with the alleged boy.
Without wasting time, he questioned his wife about the messages and the woman allegedly professed ignorance and said the messages were just from a 'harmless' Form One boy whom she always jokes with on Whatsapp.
Reports say since then the marriage has been on the brisk of collapse.
"When the wife was asked about the love messages she claimed that they were just jokes as she will be teasing the young boy. They exchanged bitter words with the husband fuming.
"He was very angry as he was accusing his wife of four years of cheating on him with a Form 1 boy. MaNyoni however, maintained that she was just joking and teasing with the 13-year-old lad," said the source.
"I don't know anything about that and I did not send any love messages to anyone. I know MaNyoni, we always watch soccer in her house but I don't know about those (love) messages," the boy said when asked.
MaNyoni however maintained that the messages were from the young boy, though she claimed that she was just teasing him.
"I cannot refute that the messages were there but that's how I usually joke with him. It's not true that we are in love.
"He is just a young boy and people are now spreading lies saying I am in love with him," she claimed.
