Sibonokuhle Moyo, a pregnant woman from Mabhongwane village in Zimbabwe fell into a well and died while trying to fetch water.
The incident happened on Thursday last week.
Matabeleland North provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Siphiwe Makonese confirmed the incident, which was reported at Nkayi Police Station.
"Police attended the scene and no foul play is suspected. Nkayi resident magistrate Mr Ndumo Masuku waived the post mortem," said Asst Insp Makonese.
It is said that the woman who is believed to be 27 years old fell into a 30 metre deep well.
Moyo had gone with her husband, Jameson Mpofu to fetch water at a well in a neighbour's homestead.
It is believed that she used a rope to lower the bucket down and the rope slipped.
She panicked and fell into the well.
A shocked Mpofu called for neighbours' help and they assisted him to rescue Moyo but it was too late as she died before being rescued.
