Afro pop star Kelly Khumalo appeared in the Hillbrow Magistrates Court yesterday in connection with the assault of an Orlando Pirates player's wife.
Kelly and her sister Zandi handed themselves over to police late on Tuesday.
The sisters allegedly attacked Mandisa, the wife of Orlando Pirates goalkeeper Senzo Meyiwa, on Empire Road, Joburg, near the M1 highway.
Mandisa was chatting to Senzo when the two women stopped their car and allegedly started assaulting her.
It is alleged that they also scratched her face with their nails.
While waiting to be called to the dock, Kelly posed for photos with State prosecutors.
The singer was heard complaining about the court benches.
"These benches are so uncomfortable," she told her co-accused sister.
The sisters are out on R500 bail each.
The case was postponed to 31 October for further investigation.
As she left the court, Kelly blew kisses to a few fans who were sitting at the back of the court gallery.
"I love you so much," she whispered with a smile.
