Former Scientologist Anette Iren Johansen has claimed in an article published in Australian magazine Women's Day and also in a blog by journalist Tony Ortega, that she had been interviewed in 2005 before the A-list actor's marriage to Katie Holmes to be his wife.
Johansen was studying as a veterinarian at the time and she had joined the Church of Scientology in 2002.
She went on to be featured in the organisation's magazines and training films.
Johansen was allegedly asked to have a meeting in regards to Cruise where she said," they asked me so many questions about my life, my family background, everything I'd ever done in Scientology."
"There was a lot of talk about Tom Cruise at that time - he had just been in Norway [hosting] the Nobel Peace Prize concert," the blonde added.
Johansen was 27-years-old during her audition and claimed she was told to sign a gagging clause preventing her from speaking about the details of the meeting.
She has followed up her story stating that two weeks later someone from Golden Era Productions in California asked her if she had any "sexual perversions" to which she answered no.
Johansen left the group four years ago but on her website she blogged about her experiences and admittedly said, "'I speak out about the Church of Scientology to give a voice for all those who suffer in silence. I'm in the middle of my own recovery and I do not intend to keep quiet. You deserve to know both sides."
Another former scientologist Marc Headley, author of "Blown for Good: Behind the Iron Curtain of Scientology," alleged in his book that Crusie did in fact audition a slew of Hollywood beauties including Scarlett Johansson, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan and Kate Bosworth after he was reportedly disappointed that his girlfriend at the time, actress Penelope Cruz, had decided not to embrace his same beliefs.
The Church of Scientology denied the accusations.
