Michael Jackson’s children and Katherine Jackson are suing AEG Live for $40 billion for the death of King of Pop.
The family is accusing the entertainment giant of negligent hiring and supervision of Dr. Conrad Murray during preparation for Jackson's ‘This Is It’ tour.
According to TMZ, $10 billion of the $40 billion sum amounts to what Jackson’s children, Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael II, believe he would have made if he had remained alive.
AEG Live has countered that the lawsuit inflates what Jackson would have made, arguing his career was in decline at the time of his death.
Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in the King of Pop's death, has been serving time in Los Angeles.
TMZ also reports the doctor will plead the Fifth Amendment and avoid involvement in the AEG Live suit, as his lawyers say anything he says could be harmful to an appeal of his conviction and possible retrial.
