Controversial Zimbabwean musician
Lady Squanda who faked her own death, nearly killing her 75-year-old grandmother Eunice Tomana with shock has compared herself to the devil.
The self-proclaimed dancehall queen Lady Squanda, real name Sandra Muchaneta Gazi faked her own death as a way of marketing her forthcoming song Rufu RwaSquanda.
A Whatsapp message from her mobile phone indicated read: "Lady Squander was found dead yesterday after she drank rat poison. May her soul Rest in Peace, we love you girl."
After her "death" Squanda boasted about her ability to pull off controversial stunts.
"Mi de devil himself," she wrote on her whatsapp status.
When Eunice Tomana (75) heard that her grandchild had 'committed suicide' she accused DJ Staera of being the cause of her grandchild’s misfortune.
"It is very disheartening to note that Squanda and her ex-husband Staera are experiencing stunted growth — maturity appears to have eluded them.
"Sometime this year they bought a beautiful white-wedding-gown and they told me to keep it for them as they were preparing for their wedding which was to be held on December 28 in Harare.
"I still have the gown. Now Muchaneta (Lady Squanda) is gone. Even then they were no longer together," said Gogo Tomana who really believed that Squanda had taken her own life.
Tomana let rip into DJ Staera for only paying just $100 as lobola (bride price).
"Staera told me unapologetically that he was cancelling the intended wedding as he was accusing Squanda of being a drunkard and of having too many male friends. He ruled out spending his entire life with a woman of this nature," said Tomana.
Lady Squanda confirmed the botched wedding to the Weekend Post.
"Aaah maOne sha ndiyo yakatambika (Of course that is what happened)," said the 21-year-old artist.
