Zimdancehall musician Nashie (real name Tinashe Mararanyika) faked his death last week in a bid to get attention, a local daily has disclosed.

The death message,through his girlfriend,was received by friends communicating that he had died in a car accident while travelling to Gweru.

The initially message sent said: "Your friend Nashie asked me to tell you that he got involved in a serious accident on his way to Harare."

An hour later, she sent another message informing Nashie’s friends that he had died.

Nashie resurfaced on Monday with the release of a single'Handifi Zvekumhanya' announcing that he was alive.

The artiste said he was not troubled by the negative feedback he was receiving from people as he feels he accomplished his mission.
