Zanu PF Masvingo provincial coordination committee has sent out a team made up of party big wigs to beg for donations in a bid to raise money for the Annual National Peoples Confrence.
Zanu PF need approximately $50 000 and 50 cattle to hold the event in Masvingo.
At least 10 sub-committees were set up to prepare for the conference with mobilisation of the needed resources.
Zanu-PF Masvingo acting provincial chairman Amasa Nhenjana yesterday said a team led by Politburo member Josaya Hungwe and Zimbabwe Chiefs’ Council president Chief Fortune Charumbira had been set up to lead the mobilisation of donations.
Other senior leaders are former Masvingo resident ministers Willard Chiwewe and Titus Maluleke together with former Chivi Central Member of Parliament Paul Mangwana, who is also a member of the Politburo.
“We tasked the senior leadership of the party led by (Josaya) Hungwe and Chief (Fortune) Charumbira to approach companies and eminent individuals in the province so that they can assist us both materially and financially with donations to enable us to host the conference in December,’’ he said.
The Finance sub-committee led by provincial secretary for finance and Chivi Rural District Council chairman Killer Zivhu has already hit the ground running, mobilising donations from the party’s traditional benefactors and individuals in the province.
Hungwe expressed confidence that Zivhu and his team would meet the set target of funds and beasts for the conference.
