A pastor of a church in Bulawayo's Pumula suburb has been dragged to court over allegations of raping an eight year old.
Clayton Nkala, 26, appeared before Western Commonage magistrate, facing charges of allegedly raping the girl whose name cannot be disclosed for legal reasons.
The name of his church was not revealed in court.
The mother of the child claimed that the child revealed that she had been attacked and raped by the pastor.
The court heard that on April 1 at around 3PM, the girl went to a dump site together with her three year old friend to pick up some tins to play with.
Whilst the children were at the dump site,Nkala is alleged to have emerged from behind and dragged the complainant into a nearby field where he raped the minor.
The mother made a report at Nkulumane Police Station which led to the arrest of Nkala.
Nkala was not asked to plead and remanded in custody to May 9.
