AN adulterous 29-year-old Jambezi man in Hwange District who could not face his village elders at a traditional court to explain how his clothes were found in the possession of his fellow villagers' wife committed suicide by hanging himself from a branch of a tree.
Matabeleland North provincial police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Siphiwe Makonese, confirmed the incident which she said happened in the bush under Chief Shana area on Thursday last week between 8pm and 9am.
She said Kenboy Chuma of Yove Chuma's homestead was allegedly having an affair with his neighbour's wife. Asst Insp Makonese said the matter came to light when some of his clothes were found with his neighbour's wife
"On 28 November, Chuma was summoned to appear before the village traditional court to respond to allegations that he was having an affair with a fellow villager's wife.
The elders wanted him to explain how some of his clothes were found in possession of his neighbour's wife,"Asst Insp Makonese said. She said on Friday, Chuma's body was later found hanging from a tree branch and a report was made to police in Jambezi.
"Police in Jambezi attended the scene and no foul play is suspected," said Asst Insp Makonese.
