THE Zimbabwe government led by the Zanu PF party is at it again as this week the party reportedly coerced civil servants to fill in questionnaires endorsing the bond notes which have otherwise been rejected by the majority of Zimbabweans.
According to an exclusive report by the Zimbabwe Independent, a Harare based newspaper, the under siege government this week intimidated civil servants by seeking their views on the controversial bond notes through a mini census.
“On Monday we were (also) forced to fill in questionnaires which asked for our views on the bond notes, a civil servant was quoted anonymously by ZimInd.
“We had no idea why we were being asked about the bond notes when government has already made a decision,” the sourced added.
It is understood that they completed the forms under a close watch from senior officials who threatened them against taking pictures of the forms or leaking any detail if they do not endorse the ‘haunted’ notes. .
The bond notes have been rejected by a wide spectrum of Zimbabweans including the business sector but the government has vowed to bring them on board ostensibly to ease the cash crunch.
