#This Flag Teen Activist Stages More Anti-Mugabe Protests In UK

A YOUNG female Zimbabwean (19) has become the face of democracy and a heroine of her time in the United Kingdom (UK) where she is staging anti-Mugabe protests in solidarity with #ThisFlag Movement founded by Pastor Evan Mawarire.
Despite her arrest leading to a 10 weeks detention by the UK Home Affairs Department, Emmaculate Tshuma — the teen protester is not discouraged and is continuing with her activism work. This week, she defended her Asylum arguing that if she returns home ,Mugabe’s cruel regime will victimise her just like what has happened to other protesters in that country.
Ironically, Mugabe recently said citizens opposed to his administration must leave the country and go somewhere - where their funder are - in apparent reference to the West which the 92-year old leaders believes is pushing for a regime change agenda through sponsoring protests. Mugabe also threatened to deal ruthlessly with protesters.
Following his proclamations, Pastor Mawarire who is currently hibernating in South Africa has refused to go home saying he fears victimisation by Mugabe’s government and would only go if his safety is guaranteed.
The Restoration of Human Rights (ROHR) Zimbabwe International — a pro-democracy group supporting Tshuma’s work also strongly believes that she (Tshuma) will be endangered if she goes back to Zimbabwe. The biggest question is: Should she go home and face Mugabe head-on — and meet her fate —- or should she stay in the UK and safely stage her protests against Mugabe’s government?
Earlier this year, Tshuma, a young person tired of Mugabe’s mismanagement of the country’s affairs was featured in a photograph in the high visibility campaign promoted by the Zimbabwe Vigil and ROHR, against suspected Zanu PF sympathisers Sylvester Nyatsuro and his wife Veronica who illegally seized a Farm belonging to a white commercial farmer. Photographs of her activism produced on the Vigil and ROHR websites attracted local and global media attention as well as public interest from pro-rights groups and individuals in the UK.
When she was arrested, detained and threatened with deportation, Tshuma received widespread support from pro-rights groups such as the ROHR and the Vigil and other Zimbabweans who waged to have her immediately released.
Despite her troubles, Tshuma was part of a wave of last month’s protests. In early July, she was part of the protests at the Zimbabwe Vigil outside the Zimbabwe Embassy in London, where she received an ovation from ROHR and the Zimbabwe Vigil members.
She was also part of the brave group of Zimbabweans who staged a demo against Zimbabwe minister of finance Patrick Chinamasa outside Chatham House in London last month. This also gave Tshuma the wherewithal to continue with her activism.
In solidarity with #ZimShutDown2016 protests,  Tshuma was interviewed on camera at the UK Solidarity and her video went viral on social media, giving traction to her work as an activist. Her photos with Peter Tatchell, the Human Rights Activist who has twice tried to physically arrest Robert Mugabe, have also gone viral in addition to her campaign for a petition to force Mugabe to be arrested.
Next week, Tshuma will be part of a stage play in Brighton depicting the arrest of Mugabe and the Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe Governor John Mangudya for crimes against the nation. This will be followed by a 110km march on foot to London.
