Zambian prostitutes in some parts of the country are offering free sex if Chipolopolo beat the Ghana Black Stars in today's 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
This will be the second time that the hookers are offering free services as part of celebrations. When Zambia beat Ghana in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup of Nations some prostitutes in Kalingalinga, Lusaka's Kanyama, John Laing, Chawama and some parts of the country provided sex for free to anyone who wanted it.
The prostitutes were overwhelmed with demand. A single prostitute is said to have served nearly 11 men and queues of men quickly formed. But concerns were raised then that in the euphoria condoms were forgotten. THIS TIME AROUND THE GOVERNMENT IS BEING URGED TO MAKE SURE THAT CONDOMS WERE MADE AVAILABLE TO THE PROSTITUTES AND SUPPORTERS.
On the pitch the Group D clash comes four months after the Zambians upset Ghana in the African Nations Cup semi-finals and went on to win their first continental title.
A defeat in Sudan last weekend has set off a chain of accusations about poor preparations and travel arrangements, culminating in coach Herve Renard saying he had not been paid for six months and would leave unless he got his money by the end of the month.
"There is an incredible lack of respect and consideration," Renard told French daily L'Equipe in an interview before the match as a row over the loss in Sudan threatened to unravel the success of mid-February.
Saturday's match marks the official opening of the new, Chinese-built stadium in Ndola, where a capacity crowd of 40,000 is expected for Zambia's first home match since winning the Nations Cup title.
