The Minister of Rural Development, Promotion and Preservation of National Culture and Heritage, Abedinico Ncube has lashed out at former Vice President Dr Joice Mujuru saying she is daydreaming that she will win the 2018 elections.
Giving a vote of thanks at the close of Zanu-PF’s Matabeleland South provincial inter-district meeting in Gwanda on Saturday, Ncube said opposition leaders including Dr Mujuru were allowed to daydream as it was their right to do so, but they will never defeat Zanu-PF.
He said President Mugabe remains the party’s candidate for the 2018 polls and he will romp to victory.
“Tsvangirai is now a spent force. There’s this one called Joice Mujuru. She is daydreaming that she will rule this country ahead of President Mugabe. Everyone is allowed to daydream including those in the opposition. It’s their right to do so,” said Ncube.
On the party’s position that President Mugabe was the ruling party’s presidential candidate for the 2018 harmonised elections, Ncube said: “We agreed that there’s no-one except President Mugabe who is going to contest for the Presidential election in 2018. Isn’t that so? So everyone knows that’s our candidate come 2018 and there are no qualms about that.”
