A Harare man allegedly sold a Zimbabwean woman to a Kuwait agent for $10 000, a court heard last week as the human trafficking saga deepens.
The Kuwait agent in turn sold the lady to an elderly woman in the Middle East country.
Morris Chivandire,38, of Glen Norah A in Harare yesterday appeared before Harare magistrate Tendai Mahwe facing charges of contravening the Trafficking in Persons Act.
It is alleged that Chivandire sold the unknowingly job seeker into slavery where she worked from 4am to 1am the next day, without pay and appropriate food.
Chivandire was granted $500 bail.
This brings to 13 the number of people who have appeared in court so far in connection with the trafficking of woman to Kuwait.
