Zimbabwe Crumbles Down
The Zimbabwean government yesterday called for an immediate end to the illegal occupation of Palestinian land by Israel.
Minister of Policy Co-ordination and Promotion of Socio-Economic Ventures in the President’s Office, Simon Khaya Moyo, said this in a solidarity message to Palestine on their 68th anniversary of the Alnakba Day celebrated on May 15 annually.
He said it was disheartening that the world watched as the Palestinians became refuges the world over. An estimated 700 000 Palestinians have fled human slaughter in their country perpetrated by Israeli troops.
Moyo said it was disturbing that Palestinians continued to be displaced, dispossessed and forcibly dispelled with no solution at hand.
Minister Moyo said Zimbabwe was hopeful that the solidarity being displayed by the majority of United Nations member states in condemning the continued occupation of Palestinian territory would bear fruit.
"In this regard, we call for an immediate end to the Israel occupation and to the creation of new settlements by Israel on Palestinian land," said Moyo.
