A drug dealer has been allegedly peddling drugs at Msiteli High School in Bulawayo, which has seen three pupils being admitted at Mpilo Central hospital after drinking a concoction containing pink pills.
The pupils said they would never reveal the sources to anyone as they feared being killed by the drug peddlers.
Nurses at Mpilo hospital had to call the police to conduct investigations after noting it was an issue of drug abuse.
Mpilo's clinical director Dr Solwayo Ngwenya said he could not provide a comprehensive analysis on the drug as he needed to conduct laboratory tests but suspected that the drugs were used to stabilise violent mental patients.
The drugs are being sold at $1 for 10 pills which are then mixed with a soft drink to provide ecstasy for the pupils .
Bulawayo's provincial education director Dan Moyo said the drug abuse issue has not yet been reported to his office.
