A family from Bulawayo's Pumula East suburb has reportedly deserted their bedroom after it was invaded by a miraculous snake which has turned it into its habitant.
The snake is reportedly camping in the bedroom and surprisingly when officials from Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management were called, they failed to locate it.
Since the home owner persisted that the snake was in the bedroom, the officials advised her to buy snake repellent.
A reliable source close to the family said, "The snake was first seen in the house a month ago and it entered main bedroom.
"Surprisingly, it was slithering on the floor and when the children screamed for help after seeing it in the house, it just ignored and proceeded to the bedroom.
"The owners of the house alerted neighbours who rushed to the house and they burnt a tyre in a bid to get it out of the house, but their efforts were fruitless." It is reported that the snake despite being spotted in the house when officials from the Zimbabwe National Parks and Wildlife Management were called, they failed to trap it.
"Now people are suspecting that there is more to what meets the eye about this snake. If it was a genuine issue, it should have been trapped the first day it was seen in the house.
"What kind of snake moves on the floor? The whole issue does not add up and it leaves a lot of questions," said the source.
When the owner of the house who was only identified as Nhliziyo was contacted for comment, she confirmed the incident saying, "We are living in fear as we do not know exactly where that snake is. We have even moved from the bedroom and the door is always closed because we are afraid of the snake.
"We are now sleeping in the kitchen and the snake repellent has not yet helped in anyway." Nhliziyo revealed that she is having sleepless nights because the thought of sharing the house with a snake is scaring her.
