A succession of accidents have over the last eight months haunted the family of three Ndlovu brothers - Madinda, late Adam and Peter - one of which claimed the life of Adam and Nomqhele Tshili – a female passenger, a development that is worrying the family.
Marko Dube, the eldest of the Ndlovu brothers said the family is worried about a spate of accidents without giving much information citing that they are attending to the problem as a family.
"I cannot say anything to the press for now. We are obviously worried but are yet to sit down as family to look into the matter. I might be the eldest but there are elders in the family who have to clear me before commenting on matters like these," Dube said.
From December last year to end of October this year, four accidents have happened within the Ndlovu family, one of which was very fatal - killing two people, Adam and Tshili and the other one near fatal – injuring three.
The first accident happened on 16 December while Adam and his young brother Peter were on their way to Victoria Falls and BMW X5 reportedly burst a tyre before veering off the road, hitting and uprooting trees.
The Ndlovu family was dealt another blow just three months after the tragic passing on of Adam when the elder brother, Madinda was involved in an accident 7 March in Botswana.
Although Madinda's Mercedes Benz was reduced into rubble he escaped with minor bruises. Madinda was alleged to have rammed onto a cow.
A few months after Madinda's accident, his son reportedly rammed onto a stationery car somewhere in town.
He was reported to have escaped unscathed.
There were no casualties in that accident. On Thursday last week, Peter's Nissan Navara car which was being driven by a female member of the Ndlovu family hit and injured vendors near Max garage in the city center.
One of the women, who was seriously injured after being hit by the car in an accident is said to be battling for her life at United Bulawayo Hospitals.
Dube said they are yet to meet victims' families and deliberate on the matter. "It is said that newspapers are fueling this matter out of proportion, we are yet to meet families of affected people," he said.
