Sinah Murudu (33), a domestic worker in South Africa, who says she had nobody to leave her children with started leaving them at home by themselves.
Unfortunately on Thursday night about 35 shacks burnt down in Disteneng squatter camp outside Polokwane and Sinah's kids, Pretty (13) and Kamogelo (10), burnt to death.
Sinah said the kids used to stay with their grandmother in Senwabarwana, but when she died Sinah decided to take them home.
"After my mother's death there was no one to look after my kids," she said.
"Now I have lost my lovely children.
"They were good kids. I worked hard for them, but now they're gone."
Neighbour Jafta Mkhari told Daily Sun: "There were flames everywhere. I thank God because I managed to escape the blaze."
Police spokesman Captain Mohlaka Mashiana said: "The kids died while their mother was at work.
"An inquest docket has been opened."
The Human Settlements Department has provided five tents as temporary shelters, and a Muslim welfare organisation donated groceries and clothes to help the affected families.
