A grieving husband is building the ultimate monument of love to his late wife - a carbon copy of the Taj Mahal in his garden.
Faizul Hasan Kadari, 77, can see the towering structure from his humble home in rural Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh state, India.
He set upon the plan to recreate a smaller 50ft by 50ft version of the iconic wonder in Agra following his wife Tajammuli Begum's death in December 2011.
Faizul said: "I never had any children and my wife told me on her death bed that since we don't have anyone to continue our name, we will be forgotten.
"That day I promised her that I will make a grave in her name so grand the entire world will remember us forever."
So far Faizul has spent £10,500 of his life savings building the 5,000sq ft structure, selling off family heirlooms and raiding his pension to fund the build.
But he is now running out of money and hears he may never be able to finish off his ambitious project.
He said: "I laid the foundations in February 2012. I used to work on it for eight hours a day including one hour for lunch.
"But last September I had to stop because I couldn't find enough money to pay people to help me with the labour.
"All I care about is completing the structure before I die."
