A 31-year old desperate man was conned by a Sangoma (traditional healer) who promised to make him fertile.
Simphiwe Manyi said all he wanted was to be fertile and have a baby with his partner and buy a new house.
All his dreams and hopes were shattered as the Congolese Sangoma left him broke and without the promised baby.
Simphiwe told the Voice that the trouble started when he and his wife decided to have a baby.
“We couldn’t bear children so we consulted a doctor, He told me that my sperm was low”, explained Simphiwe.
He said he tried various remedies but his wife still could not fall pregnant.
Then he bumped into a man distributing fliers in the city advertising the powers of a man called “Professor” who works in Strand Street.
“I consulted the Professor who promised he could solve my problem” says Simphiwe. “He first demanded that I pay R10 000 and gave me a white powder and two eggs with some muti, a week later he wanted to see me in his office and demanded R38 000 which I have withdrew from my savings."
However in no time the manipulative woman started avoiding him and his calls.
When Daily Voice visited Professor’s offices, the cleaner told them that many people making similar claims have been looking for Professor.
