Man sets in-laws ablaze

Edson Mashoko from Zhombe, Zimbabwe is alleged to have set his in-laws’ hut in Zhombe’s Mutandi village on fire after a misunderstanding with his wife.
A family dispute turned into tragedy when Mashoko followed his wife Dorica Dube to her parents’ home where she had gone to seek refuge after a misunderstanding.
On Sunday the 10th of February, Mashoko is suspected to have doused his in-laws’ hut with petrol before setting it on fire.
Sleeping in the hut were Mashoko’s wife; sister in-law, Petronella, his two year old son, Talent; his mother in-law, Mrs Lucia Mwanza and three other children.
Two children, Ali Mususa (5) and Mashoko’s son Talent (2) were burnt beyond recognition.
The mother- in- law, Mrs Mwanza who had been transferred to Harare Central Hospital died on Tuesday due to the burns.
Mashoko’s wife and her sister, Petronella are still at Harare Central Hospital after being transferred from Gokwe General Hospital.
