A 21 year old woman from Chicago, USA has been left terrified and traumatised after she was attacked by a man armed with a sock full of human poo.
The student was taking a train through Chicago, when she was suddenly assaulted by a fellow passenger.
Talking afterwards, she explained: "He had a sock full of his poop on me. It was everywhere: on my face, my hair, my clothes."
She told how the man gave no warning before he struck, remaining silent as he suddenly threw the revolting item into her face just minutes after boarding the train.
She said: "I wasn’t really paying attention. Next stop, he throws something in my face."
Despite chasing her attacker as he ran away, the woman was unable to catch him, and a police search did not locate him.
Police have released images of a man matching the victim's description of her attacker, and have designated him a "person of interest".
The woman said she had been left traumatised by the horrific incident, saying: “It was like the biggest degradation I’ve ever experienced."
She even claims she would have preferred to have been violently beaten as it would have been less upsetting, saying: "I wish he had just hit me."
The woman, who moved to the area just six weeks ago, added: "The worst part is nobody had anything to wipe my face with."
Following the attack, which took place in late December, she was forced to clean herself using newspapers before paramedics gave her towels and water.
She went on: "They really aren’t prepared for a situation like that,”
The victim believes the attack was motivated by her gender, saying: "I don’t know why he did it. I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have done that to a guy."
And the incident has left her wary of using public transport. She said: "I try to check the people around me."
Local police officer Ladon Reynolds said: "We have photos of the offender and we’re seeking to identify him."
