The back paddling by government on the announcement that was made by Finance and Economic Development Minister Patrick Chinamasa on salary reduction for civil servants has left citizens baffled after Information, Media and Broadcasting Services Minister Dr Christopher Mushohwe said that there will not be a salary cut.
Chinamasa made the announcement, while presenting the Mid-Term Fiscal Policy Review statement, that civil servants’ bonuses would be suspended for two years, while their salaries and allowances would be reduced as part of measures to bring the economy back on track.
Mushohwe has however said that Chinamasa's "proposition" to cut civil servants salaries was rejected leaving citizens with questions whether the Fiscal Policy review statement was just a proposal which is yet to be reviewed and either approved or shot down.
However citizens were left confused on the two announcements. ZimNet brings you some of the comments by concerned citizens on the confusion within the ZANU PF led government.
