"Arrest Mugabe for missing $15 billion"

Published: 2016 March 09 06:26:04 (2764 Views)
Accusations have been leveled up by Opposition parties and student unions that President Robert Mugabe was to blame for being  unaware that the nation was loosing billions through looting of diamonds.

They said if $15 billion worth of diamonds were pillaged under Mugabe’s watch, then he should be impeached for failing to do his job.

MDC-T spokesperson, Obert Gutu said a president should be able to account for what happens in his own country.

People’s Democratic Party spokesperson, Jacob Mafume said Mugabe should be held liable for not acting even after he found out about the looting spree.

MDC spokesperson, Kurauone Chihwayi said it was shocking that Mugabe had failed to act either by resigning or sacking law enforcement bosses for failing to enact security measures

The Zimbabwe Nationals Students' Union (Zinasu) highlighted that these bad decisions done by the government were affecting the future of the youth of Zimbabwe.

Views have been circulating on social media claiming that those responsible should be brought to book.

Let me get to the root of this. The British Government and its allies imposed illegal sanctions seeking to damage the economy in the hope of causing mass disaffection against the government. They wanted a failed state in Zimbabwe but as we are seating right now, I agree that as a country like any other we are facing problems bt we are not a failed state. They wanted the President to fail...Our President is not a failed Leader. I am not surprised that the Western sponsored opposition & private media is calling persecution of the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe on a matter that he is tackling & tasked the responsible authorities to clean up the diamond sector & hold perpetrators to account a long time ago....The President is exposing & fighting corruption and the Opposition & private media want him charged for that...that’s silly.Demo Mutemo & hon guys the police noted your threats
