Style icon, Welshman Sibanda, is lucky to be walking after a 20kg block of metal fell on his back while he was at work last week.
The stylist who works as an engineer at a local cement manufacturing firm and is studying towards a degree in law said he almost missed an exam because of the incident which landed him in hospital.
“I’ve never felt so much pain in my life. Minutes after the accident, I couldn’t walk properly and had to be rushed to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment,” said Sibanda.
He said at one point when he was lying on the hospital bed, he thought he had become crippled.
“Horrific thoughts flashed past me as I wondered if I’d be able to have kids or do my engineering job. Would I be able to fend for my family, am I crippled?” I asked myself.
Sibanda who was discharged from hospital on Monday said although the doctors had given him an all clear, he was advised to visit specialists.
After the ordeal, Sibanda feels rejuvenated and is hard at work preparing to launch his clothing line.
“I now want to start a clothing line, something that has been in the pipeline for a long time. I’ve since engaged two designers Anele and Kelly from Bulawayo and shared ideas on the clothing line,” said Sibanda.
If all goes according to plan, the clothing line will be launched later this year.
Sibanda, Zimbabwe’s Most Stylish man according to Zim Fashion Week is known for being one of the best dressed men at most events in Bulawayo.
